Laura's life falls apart when she learns that her husband has been cheating on her with her sister, and she's been passed over for a promotion. When a friend offers her a magistrate's job in the remote town of Pearl Bay, she recalls the great time she had there on holiday and decides to pack up the family and move there.

Diver is the first person Laura encounters when she heads to Pearl Bay. He helps her take a long, circuitous route into town when she discovers that the main thoroughfare, the bridge, is closed. Diver directs her to her new home, which he informs her might have been previously owned by drug dealers.
Bruce Myles (Tony Carstairs) reprised his role in Perchance to Dream. He also appeared in The Bank, and played Vincent in Oranges and Sunshine.
Fiona Corke (Trudi Dawson) reprised her role in Fellowship of the Suit, and appeared in a few episodes after David's departure.
Jazmin Westrup also played Bob's secretary in Full Fathom Five.
