Three Dollars
Hard questions

ROBERT Connolly loves to attend question and answer sessions after screenings of his films. As he, David Wenham and other
cast members spruik Three Dollars about the nation, they have been doing plenty of ``Q and A'', such as the one at the
Nova Cinemas, city, last week.

Sometimes, though, they're not all roses.

"Queensland was the worst," says Connolly, having been in Brisbane a few days earlier. "The first guy said `Look,
I just want to draw the audiences' attention to some continuity problems in the film.'

"And we went through the whole film. He had a list - and some of them were wrong.

"I was very generous with him about it, but I remember seeing Mike Leigh talk at a `Q and A' for
Secrets and Lies at the Sydney Film Festival.

Someone asked a question and he said `I just want to say, in my career as a film-maker, that is the worst question,
the stupidest. Did you watch the film?' He got stuck in . . ."

Having not been in Brisbane, Wenham asks: "And you didn't do that the other night?"

Connolly: "No." (laughing)

Wenham: "You didn't learn from Mike Leigh?" He shakes his head in good humour.
