Hopping mad
Using Australian locations to film scenes supposedly set in other countries can be hazardous, as the producers of new ABC miniseries Answered With Fire discovered while filming an "East Timorese swamp" on the Gold Coast.

The show has David Wenham playing a
Brisbane policeman sent to East Timor at the time of the vote for independence. The producers had set up a shot set in an "East Timorese swamp" when suddenly the cast was expanded to include a mob of kangaroos hopping into the frame.

Yes, it had to be set up again and reshot - without the very Aussie fauna.
