On the screen it’s eyes are blue, nevertheless the cinematographic image does not render they merit. In reality they’re of the color of an alpine’s lake and communicate the same tranquillity, serenity, transparency. Beyond to a sex appeal obvious but soft: to case the tabloid of gossip they don’t seem to ignore it. Perhaps the humane qualities of David W are these on which tip the star system in order to transform it from succeeding actor of in firmament star of the thirties years (is been born in 1966). But to decide of its fates it will be the answer that the spectators of all the world will give just in these weeks. The Australian actor appears very in fact in two films of tip of the season: Moulin Rouge (playing the role of a writer, Audrey) and Dust, the film from Milcho Manchevski in which for the first time he became the interpreter on a great international production. Here, beside Joseph Fiennes, he plays the part of a hard american’s cowboy hunting of ransoms in the Macedonian of the beginning century. Wenham tells that it has not been a difficult job. “The film is all of Manchevski, all centered on his ideas. For me much fort was only dealt to follow a guide, to move myself within decidedly on solid railroads”.

That that remembers is rather the hard days of work in which it was turned in situ. “We’ve worked during the warmer summer of the last decades, with a temperature that only came down under the 40 degrees in the night. For having idea of the engagement that came demanded to all those who worked on the set, from the actors to the maestranze, enough to watch my custom: thick shirt of cotton, leather jacket, heavy jeans… Fortunately I had ended to film in Australia “The Bank”, of Robert Cannolly, in which the physical preparation had been important: therefore already I was trained and in perfect shape”. Always on purpose of his role in “Dust” he tells of being totally aware that a strong character like his, if on one side fascinates the spectator, from the other can become a cage for who acts.

The cliché problem always introduces to all the actors. I can say that this film respect a lot my real character. Sure my preferred characters, whose interpretation gives me more satisfaction, are those not linear, even if they can be violent. I liked change role and creed, is just this the greater pleasure for who makes this trade. I try to make different choices and it seems to me that my filmography it’s a clear testimony of that, from “Moulin Rouge” to the “The lord of the rings”, in which I’m Faramir, one of the prettier, sweet and kind personages of all the film”. But with regard to the wait film of Peter Jackson he doesn’t add other thing; indeed, he gave a kind but decided negative to talk about that: “By contract all the actors of this film must keep they mouths shut until the official première”. He points out the cinematographic transposition of the pages of Tolkien telling the technical difficulties when he had to act interacting with the special effects. “It can be very difficult, specially when you feel yourself secondary considering the special effects. You can even felt a little cretino: you move or you are them to make feint to make goodness knows that, in front of these blue panels (? ???), not knowing like really expressing to you, neither that effect will be on the screen. For now I have been fortunate, because son always found to me in film like “Dark City”, in which I was supported from a important role in a strong vicissitude”(? ::)). And it concludes: “In the several Actors Studios, in the many schools, they taught anything, but nothing like act with virtual interaction. It will be more and more important that someone beginnings finally to make it”.
